Press Release by ICNA Atlanta, GA - Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) Atlanta chapter organized Muslim Family Day at Six Flags over Georgia on Saturday Oct 11th, as a part of Eid celebration and a nationwide Dawah campaign. Over 3000 Muslims of Metro Atlanta area and the neighboring states attended the event with excitement and a great zeal, and enjoyed the whole day of fun and entertainment showing their presence in the South in an Islamic environment. The Picnic Pavilion was reserved only for the Muslims where a variety of delicious and Halal food, clothing and other vending facilities were available along with free informational booths from many Muslim organizations like ICNA Relief, Helping Hand USA, WhyIslam, ILM Academy, Hamzah Masjid, Al-Maghrib Institute and TSA. Other than unlimited rides in the park Quran recitation, Islamic poster and Quiz competitions were arranged for children of all ages. Adhan was called four times from the loud speakers and prayers were offered collectively. Lectures and stage presentations were also part of the program. Sh. Ehtrram-ul Haq Thanvi and Sh. Al-Hashimy also visited the Pavilion. The event was hosted in 7 cities throughout the country including New Jersey, Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas and LA, as a part of a national level Dawah campaign by ICNA, which started from a month long NY subway Islam ads followed by Chicago and Seattle Bus ads. Two WhyIslam dawah tables were setup within the park to outreach non-Muslims, distributing Islamic literature, books and translation of Quraan.
